I think that’s the best. Back in the olden days when I was painting, if I tried to paint something that existed, I got so caught up in trying to make it perfect that the act of painting lost its joy and the item lost its spontaneity. It wasn’t fun.
I can see that and I heartily agree. Most of my paintings have emerged out of dreams. Some of them started out with an existing structure or landscape — and somehow my fantasy changed them into fables with creatures I’d never seen.

Of course, most mountains are real, but I believe that this was more of a dreamscape.
